Rich gray with purple hues give this yarn a look like no other. Made from former Ten Seven Acres alpaca, Koa. Her natural gray fleece mixed with lotus silk and US-raised merino give it handle without compromising softness.
About the Farm
Since 2013, our farm has been home to about 25 alpacas – far outnumbering people in our small town of Galchutt, North Dakota. Each year our alpacas get sheared just once, making their soft and warming fiber truly something special. Keeping it hyper-local, the fiber is transformed into finished yarn just 9 miles up the road at our sister-company and fiber mill, Yarn Factory.
Natural Yarn
We believe in processing our yarn without harsh processes like superwashing or acid bathing. While we take multiple steps to remove vegetative matter from the fiber, some may remain in the finished yarn that is usually removable after knitting. After all, animals live outside!
