Description
Royal blue has a very interesting history. It is said to have been created by a consortium of mills, which won a competition to make a robe for Queen Charlotte. Our process isn’t quite that historical, but this yarn is still worthy of any project – from hats to shawls and even robes. If we’re being totally honest, it does remind us a bit of a mid-1990s checkbook cover (if you don’t know what that is, ask your parents).
This 100% alpaca yarn was created using our heathering process. We dye between 10-30% pure white alpaca to a shade of our desired color, then combine it randomly at the carder. Once spun, the yarn has flecks of varying color throughout giving a truly unique (and very forgiving) pattern.
Natural Yarn
We believe in processing our yarn without harsh processes like superwashing or acid bathing. While we take multiple steps to remove vegetative matter from the fiber, some may remain in the finished yarn that is usually removable after knitting. After all, animals live outside!
