Description
It’s not uncommon to find random bags of acquired fiber in the mill. We’ve been on the receiving end of more than one roving stash, felter’s fluff collection, or random fleece. We usually just set these aside on a shelf, forgetting about them until we need the shelf space. Well, we needed the shelf space, so our randomly acquired fiber has been turned into yarn!
Containing a little wool, a little alpaca, a little unknown, our “Goulash” yarn has a steely gray look from a far, but flecks of red, blue, purple, and green throughout. It’s not going to win competitions for the world’s softest yarn, but it’s still surprisingly soft while being a durable feeling yarn.
This would be great for outwear projects and other projects that require a durable yarn with good memory.
Natural Yarn
We believe in processing our yarn without harsh processes like superwashing or acid bathing. While we take multiple steps to remove vegetative matter from the fiber, some may remain in the finished yarn that is usually removable after knitting. After all, animals live outside!
