Fiber Processing Price List

We offer all inclusive pricing, based on incoming weight in lbs rounded to the nearest 1/10th lbs.
There is no minimum batch size, however a 3lbs minimum will be charged due to set up times for each machine.

All pricing includes reasonable, quick skirting!
IT IS TO YOUR BENEFIT TO SKIRT FLEECE BEFORE YOU SEND IT TO US!
However, we reserve the right to reject any fleece due to contamination, unsalvageable due to debris, infestation, or damage. When needed, we will consult with the customer on how to proceed. Please note that all incoming fiber will be washed to ensure better processing through our machinery

All prices are based on incoming weight.
A 50% deposit is required to begin processing.

Carding
Prices include washing, picking, and carding.

• Roving, Cloud, or Batts: $23/lb
• Pin-drafted Roving: $28/lb

Spinning
Prices include washing, tumbling, picking, carding, pin-drafting, & spinning.

• Ply options: 2ply, 3ply, 4ply (some weights will require a certain ply)
• Lace (23-27 wpi, 2ply only): $48/lb
• Fingering (19-22 wpi): $44/lb
• Sport (15-18 wpi): $40/lb
• DK (12-14 wpi): $38/lb
• Worsted (9-11 wpi): $36/lb
• Bulky (6-8 wpi) (5lb min – 4ply only): $35/lb

Other fees/options

• Suri alpaca & Mohair: + $3/lb (blended >30%)      + $6/lb (70-100% if possible)
• CRIA fleeces: + $2/lb (extra care & time required) NO BULKY
• Designer Yarn: + $3/lb (ex: Tweed, Barber Pole, stripe roving, silk/exotic fiber add-ins) + cost of fiber if provided by Yarn Factory
• Yarn on cones: + $2/cone
• Skein washing: + $3/lb

We use 200 yard skeins unless otherwise specified.
Skeins < 200 yards + $2/lb

IF fibers will not hold together through our roving deck alone, processing will default to CLOUD, charged at cloud pricing.
If customer permits blending ahead of time, then blending with a suitable binding fiber
(merino, bamboo, etc) is available to process that batch into roving or yarn.
The additional fees will apply.

Once your order is complete we will bill you the remaining 50% plus return shipping. Payment in full is due before processed fiber is returned. Completed orders unpaid after 60 days will become the property of Yarn Factory LLC.

Custom Dyeing

Cost per pound is based on incoming weight, washed weight for yarn dyeing.

• Dye fiber “in the raw”: $13/lb (to be processed after dyeing & washing)

• Pot Dyeing Yarn: $15/lb (solid colors dyed in yarn form)

• Hand Painted Skein Dying: $30/lb
    (cost higher due to time involved and machine status)

Every fiber takes color differently, and there are many variables in the dyeing process.
We will attempt to get it as close as possible.*
