About Yarn Factory
We’ve been involved in the industry for many years, both as fiber producers and fiber processors. Through our farm, Ten Seven Acres, we’ve raised numerous ribbon-winning alpacas and have mentored other farms in our area as they began their alpaca journey. Jessie also has years of experience working in the artisan fiber mill industry since 2015.
We’ve raised alpacas since 2013. For 10 years, we also made yarn at our own mill and other local mills. Now, our focus is sharing natural fibers with you from farms and mills across the country.
We make our own products with fiber coming from our own alpaca herd in Galchutt, ND and other farms across the United States.
We invite you to experience the difference of natural fiber!
About Jessie Monson
Jessie leads the day-to-day operations for Yarn Factory. She previously worked at Dakota Fiber Mill in Kindred, North Dakota for over five years, processing raw animal fiber into finished roving and yarn for farms all across the United States. Her experience has allowed her to develop a unique eye for helping farms understand the best ways to process their fiber.
Through her and Dirk’s farm, Ten Seven Acres, Jessie oversees the herd of about 25 alpacas in nearby Galchutt, North Dakota. She also has been a vendor at many local markets, selling one-of-a-kind fiber products created from their alpaca herd.
About Dirk Monson
Dirk oversees the business and administrative operations for Yarn Factory. He also processes fiber, focusing on picking and carding operations.
When he’s not working with the mill, he’s probably hugging his favorite alpaca, Penelope, and his favorite huarizo, Daphne.
